StarPure Magnetic Bead Soil Nucleic Acid Extraction Kit This kit can extract and purify nucleic acids from microbial communities (such as bacteria and fungi) in the soil, effectively filter proteins and nucleic acids from plant debris and animal remains in the soil, and remove impurities such as pigments and humic acid in the soil, thereby preventing them from affecting the application of the extracted nucleic acids in downstream testing. This kit is suitable for a variety of soil sample types, such as organic nutrient soil, sandy soil, red soil, and saline-alkali soil. Approximately 4 μg of nucleic acid can be extracted from 500 mg of soil sample. The extracted and purified nucleic acid products can be directly used in downstream testing, such as PCR, qPCR, NGS, and first-generation sequencing.

  • The sample is applicable to a wide range of different soil types

DNA was extracted from samples from different locations and soil types using the Qihengxing Soil DNA Extraction Reagent and various imported and domestic soil DNA extraction kits, with triplicates performed for each sample. For most samples, the Qihengxing StarPure Soil DNA Extraction Kit extracted higher amounts of DNA than kits from other suppliers.

Samples 1-8 are Beijing-Garden Soil 1, Beijing-Garden Soil 2, Sanya-Sandy Soil, Sanya-Saline-Alkali Soil, Jiangsu-Field Soil, Shanghai-Orchard Soil, Taiyuan-Garden Soil, and Taiyuan-Field Soil, respectively.

  • High extraction efficiency and better data relevance
Different numbers of rice blast fungus spores were added to sterile soil to achieve final concentrations of 5,000, 10,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, and 500,000 spores per 500 mg of soil, respectively. DNA was extracted from these soils using Qihengxing, imported, and domestic brand soil extraction kits. 50 μl of elution buffer was used for elution, and 4 μl of the extracted DNA was used for qPCR detection using Qihengxing StarLighter SYBR Green qPCR Mix (FS-Q1002). The Ct values are shown in Table 1. The Qihengxing soil extraction kit demonstrated excellent extraction efficiency and better input-output correlation (higher R 2 ).
